Women’s Ski Camps with Jessica Baker

Ski Mountaineering Skills Improvement Tetons January 2010

Dates: January 9-12, 2010
Cost: $850

This camp is geared towards the woman who is looking to gain and improve her ski mountaineering skills.  This camp is open to skiers, snowboarders, and tele-skiers.  Topics covered include:  Avalanche rescue and terrain awareness/assessment, snowpack assessment, short roping, rappelling with gear on, glacial travel, crevasse rescue, skinning strategy, basic ice climbing skills, winter survival skills (including snow cave and other winter shelter), and personal ski technique.  It is an intensive camp packed into 4 days in the mountains.  Weather permitting, one night will be spent overnight in the backcountry, or a “moonlight” ski night as an alternative.

Packing List

Backountry ski gear including:  skins, ice axe, crampons, harness, randonee, tele, or splitboard capabilities.  Some of this gear can be rented once you arrive for the camp.  Please contact Jessica for more detail.
